I got a ps3 a couple days ago and was wondering how to become a ps3 game beta tester?

People like to believe they can just “get” a job as a game tester. Sorry but no such luck.
In fact, companies don’t even send out Beta copies anymore. All of their testing is done in-house by their QA teams. The people on these QA teams have degrees in computer science and work long hours with the software engineers to fix bugs.
Don’t believe any of the sites you see out there. Game testing requires a good background including a Bachelors degree. It’s not some easy industry you just fall into it’s a real job.

Well there are two betas the closed beta which is running now and the open beta which will release this fall (hopefully). Chances are if you’re not already into the home beta then you can’t get in now. And it also helps if you are a member of the GAP on Sony’s site.

I’m 15 years old and I’m a gamer. I want to be a ps3,xbox 360, psp game tester, but I dont know how.

Most game tester actually are older and actually take it as a JOB. Game testing isnt just playing games, most of the time its either finding glitches by playing a whole part of a game OVER AND OVER! It really isnt that exciting, but sometimes it can be. I suggest either go online and beta test online games, or something in that matter to get some experience in your hands. Then MAYBE you can email a company and find out if you can test their game.

My boyfriend has a full-time job and still manages to plug 25 – 30 hours a week into his PS3.
How can he find a job as a video game tester? That would be his dream job!

I would not recommend a job as a video game tester. There are many horror stories of video game testers. Unfinished games, which is what he’d be playing, are not “fun” to play.
