This course is the development of the game worth it?
I attended a preview of game development. The course offers a game development degree and the interesting thing is that it provides evidence and offers direct employment or self-employment opportunities for students who make the grade. In addition, students are assigned to pay Game testers. The software used for this course are: DarkBasic, GameMaker, Visual C + +, Maya, 3D Max and school clean the game engine. Is this course worth try? And DarkBasic useful game industry?
With the commercial game, may have some knowledge of what is involved the development of a game, but Work generally requires the work of a team. This course can give you the basic knowledge you need is not, you will most likely give you the detailed knowledge you need. So instead I guess the way that works best for those based on existing knowledge, using the course of the investigation can be done in the field or hopes of using their skills to get on the ground floor and develop the skills they need at work. Without doubt, the course is worth some people, but you must consider whether it is worth to you. What are your long term goals? What are the objectives? I know most people think that a game developer have no social life, but must consider all of SoCal obligations you may have, how to make friends of the impact of the course and the family? Does your family and friends have justified this choice? Not that you should let these people make important decisions for you, but it is often easier to do something, if people support his decision. Review and compare the other options you have. My rule of thumb is that you should look at, examine and compare your choice with at least two other solutions. What is the impact if the value of this course is estimated below you?
