Hey how much do game testers make starting out? and what is the max that they can make?

Not much. Around 20k a year. You usually have a side job, and you live an easy life, no hassles, just pure entertainment.

Looking for a game testers job. The kind where they mail you a game and u play and test the game write your report about it then mail it back.. how long do game testers need to go to college?
I wanna be a game tester but i need to know how long i need to go to college to get paid at least the minimum salary of 24,000 a year. Which colleges are best and which ones suck?

There is Saddle back college and Full Sail University that have video game courses but sorry video game companies don’t hire people just to test games and that’s it, you have to be employed to do other things then just that and when you are a video game tester you have to be able to beat levels and stuff fast and report glitches and stuff testers aren’t hired to play video games and that’s it because there is way more to testers which I myself am also getting into. The company blizzard lets you test games but you don’t get paid but you have to show that you have potential so like you have to make like a scene or something on computer to show that your not just some random person asking, that you have skills in the gaming industry, its like going into an interview before they let you test their games.
PS they also don’t let you test the whole game in companies because they don’t want people to let out anything about games before they come out so even if you do you will only get to play a level
Not to be mean or negative but I’m just letting you know that to do this stuff you need to do more then just play video games, you need to have taken classes at high school and such and be able to do work other then just play their game and get paid.
Oh but good news for you though is if you work to be more then just a tester for video games, if you do the full potential which isn’t that much more added on you will get paid way more then $24,000 a year. If its a really good company you could get 2x as much or more. But I can’t guarantee that all video game companies get paid the same

Can anyone give me acurate information on game companies hiring game testers?
I’m 17 at the time and I should be going to college soon. I may go to college in New York City and I’m looking for a job in game testing for a part time job to pay for it. And to help my gf with her bills, etc.
Anyone know a where or how I can get a job like that? Or if I can’t, a job I can get working at home?
