I’m a rising junior in high school and I was wondering, what are major video game companies lookig for when they hire video game testers. Do they look to people who have completed college and what sort have majors do video game testers study. Also do video game testers get paid well?

How find video game tester job on the web?
Me and my best friend are trying to find job as video game testers but we can’t find the right website to ably to be ones.

If you check eagames’ website, they periodically offer positions. You have to be living in that area. Rockstar games has the same sort of eligibility issues too (18, living in the area, etc).
It’s not like testing a beta – betas tend to be closer to the finished product. It is hard, hard work. You have to play games at the alpha stage, generally over 50 hours a week – games that aren’t finished and games that have almost no polish. It’s not nearly as fun as it sounds.
But if you’re serious about it, you can check those sites (http://www.ea.com and http://www.rockstargames.com) plus other company specific websites (Atari, Ubisoft, etc.) and check their employment pages.

Make sure to verify all your sources for game testing. There are internet Article marketers out there trying to seperate you from your money. They do a little internet research, call themselves an expert and write an article. They will then refer you to a website. how high in demand are video game testers?
I just wanted to know if they are in really high demand right now particularly for companies like Sega and such
