How can I apply to become a video game tester?
I love to play video games, and I wanted to become a video game tester after I turn 18.
It sounds like a lot of fun, and I’d be making a lot more money than I already do.
But I don’t know how to apply. How can I apply for it?

You do realise that you wont be playing a finished product right ?
You wil be playing beta’s and alphas half finished games
you wil have to play it day in and out day in and out til your sick off it
its not fun and games you dont do it for a few hours and then play another game you have to play it hours afte rhours
do everything go every where
play under every difficulty level log every error you encounter log them
and then try to recreate them and log them again
and again
and again
and again
you wil have to play the game from end to end for months
if that sounds like fun go to the sites of developers and publishers and see if they are hiring

There are loads of video game development companies and you should find some of these and contact them directly for the best results. Just keep ringing and emailing them and you will get your first job.
Also try to get involved with all Beta Testing jobs as well.

I’m not artistic, but I want to become a video game designer. Is there a position in that field that doesn’t need art skills? I know about video game testers, but I’m talking about design.
Would it come in handy to take art classes? What classes should I take in high school?

Maybe you can try programming because most of the game design companies requires a programmer. Or you can also be a scriptwriter or an interface designer for a game. Good luck

How long does a video game tester stay employed?
I actually stumbled upon the chance to become one, but i heard that game testers can work for a couple weeks, or a couple months, then be unemployed for like 4 months or more! I really want to go for this job, but unfortunatly, I have to think practical. Im moving in with my fiancee soon, then getting married in less than 10 months, so i cant go for a job that will get me laid off soon. So is that true? or is that not always the case?
